Job Title:Senior Big Data Engineer

Location: Bangalore/Chennai

Job Description:

  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality service outputs and effective communication.
  • Drive continuous productivity improvements to meet prescribed standards.
  • Manage data and analytics support for key initiatives across Retail Banking, supporting countries and group teams.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to resolve production issues related to data quality, assurance, security, and refresh timeliness.
  • Review integration of new technologies and functionalities with Business and Technology teams.
  • Provide analytics support across various business areas: Customer Acquisition, Portfolio Management, and New Product Development.
  • Oversee analysis and reporting for all retail products and segments.
  • Interact with metrics owners to understand and apply metrics across multiple MI dashboards.
  • Create and maintain efficient data pipeline architecture, assembling complex datasets to meet business requirements.
  • Identify and implement internal process improvements, including automation, data delivery optimization, and scalable infrastructure redesign.

Mandatory Skills:

  • 6+ years of relevant technology experience.
  • Proficiency in Java/Scala programming.
  • Strong analytical skills with unstructured datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with Hadoop and Big Data technologies (HIVE, HBase, Kafka, Spark).
  • Strong SQL expertise.
  • Experience in database and data warehouse building and management.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, architectures, and large datasets.
  • Experience in performing root cause analysis to identify data/process improvements.
  • Expertise in message queuing, stream processing, and scalable “big data” stores.
